The Cyrus Eaton Elementary School (CEES)

Committed to Preparing Students for the Voyage of Lifelong Learning

Cyrus Eaton Elementary School’s (grades primary to six) enrolment is approximately 175 students. School staff includes seven teachers, a Reading Recovery/Learning Centre teacher, three teachers’ assistants, a secretary and a caretaker. Music, French and Physical Education specialists are available. CEES follows the Nova Scotia Department of Education program of provincial/regional/family guidelines.

Parent Magazine named CEES one of Canada’s top forty schools for their commitment to providing adaptive strategies and programs for students with specific needs.

Pugwash District High School (PDHS)

Pugwash District High School’s enrolment is 244 students in grades seven to twelve. School staff includes 21 teachers, a principal, vice-principal and 13 support staff. A virtual high school is also available.

PDHS has an excellent academic and sports history. Many graduates go on to further education – several have received full scholarships to universities such as Yale and the Ontario Agricultural College at Guelph. Their Reach For The Top team has done extremely well both provincially and nationally. PDHS has an excellent art program, which has been recognised both nationally and provincially.

Athletes also excel at PDHS. Both boys' and girls' school teams have won many District and Provincial championships in a variety of sports.

Pugwash District High School participates in a joint venture between the Department of Education and High School Boards to bring international students to their school.
